By liberating these areas, you're able to access new side missions, opening up the possibilities of Far Cry 3 even more.
Besides the focus on open-world exploration, Far Cry 3 introduces a few new mechanics to the formula. The most notable ones are character and weapon upgrades, as well as hunting missions and crafting.
